'Ōte'a Hine Workshop On Demand
'Ōte'a Hine was recorded in Tahiti, simply
featuring the pahu tupa'i.
The thought process behind the Öte'a was simple as well; it
was driven by the imagery of skin. Skin stretched taut over
hollowed wood, beat with the skin of the hands, giving way to
the round, resounding sounds that move the sensual skin of
the vahine, in round and resounding ways.
Mevina is releasing this song first to all of the participants of the workshops. The song will have an official release set for later this year.
